| Bio: | Name: John Sheppard Fandom: Stargate Atlantis PB: Joe Flanigan military rank: Lt. Colonel backstory: Major John Sheppard worked for the Air Force and was stationed in McMurdo (Antarctica) after he disobeyed a direct order in Afghanistan to save several peoples lifes. One day John was assigned to fly Major General Jack O´Neill to a secret facility in Antarctica. This flight was going to change John Sheppards life forever. On the flight his helicopter was attacked by a drone accidentally shot at them from the ancient outpost they were heading towards. John showed strong nerves while avoiding being hit and destroyed by the drone. Luckily in the end the drone was shut down before it could hit the helicopter and kill John and Jack. At the ancient outpost Jack gave John security clearance to come into the facility. There he learned about the Stargate, the ancients and an expedition to Atlantis in another galaxy. Because John has the ancient gene he was invited to join the expedition. After some hesitation John finally decided to go with them. Once in Atlantis the city was close to drowning and a military team was sent out to find a power source to save the city. John was among the team that gated to a planet called Athos. There they met Teyla Emaggen and her fellow Athosians and also met the Wraith for the first time. The Wraith, which are an alien race that defeated the ancients thousands of years ago, kidnapped several people including Teyla and the military expedition leader Colonel Sumner. John attempted a rescue mission and saved Teyla and several other people. Colonel Sumner however died. This made John Sheppard the ranking military officer of the expedition. For the next years the main goal of the expedition was to find ZPMs to power Atlantis, fight the Wraith, Replicators and other enemies and survive in the Pegasus Galaxy. John comes to the island shortly after the episode 5.11. They were going on another mission. The Stargate was dialed and John and his team stepped through. Instead of reaching the planet with his team John however ended up on the island, with no way of getting back. Friendships: During his time in Atlantis John became close friends with Dr. Rodney McKay, Lt. Aiden Ford, Teyla Emmaged, Ronon Dex, Dr. Elizabeth Weir Dr. Carson Beckett, Dr. Jennifer Keller, Dr. Radek Zelenka and Colonel Samantha Carter. He however gets along with most people on the expedition. Relationships: After being married and devorced John usually had short affairs, not long relationships. It´s not that he didn´t want to have a longer relationship, it just never worked out, mostly because of him being in the military. A few months after he arrived in Atlantis John and his team visited an alien planet and John met an ancient there. He fell for her and she returned his feelings, but they couldn´t be together. He couldn´t stay on her planet and she couldn´t leave it as she was the protector of this planet. After that he merely flirted with women. It wasn´t until about a year later, when John was trapped in a time dilation field on an alien planet that he fell for someone again. Teer was one of the villagers that lived in the time dilation field to be able to ascend. The two of them had a short romance before she ascended together with the other villagers. After that John only had a few flirts. Sexuality: straight Strenghts: John Sheppards main strength is that he never gives up, no matter how hopeless a situation is. He doesn´t freeze when facing deathly situations. Instead he searches for a way out of them. John is a skilled military fighter and thus good with weapons and in hand to hand combat. Being in the Air Force John also is a pilot. He loves to fly and can manage to fly almost anything. His strengths however don´t only include military trainings. He also is highly intelligent and knows a lot. He once did a Mensa test and passed, but never joined. His ability to feel for and with people could also be considered a strength, even if some might consider it a weakness. Another of Lt. Colonel John Sheppards strengths is that he is a good leader. Weaknesses: Johns weakness is in expressing his feelings. He never was good at talking about how he feels. He is more a person of action. Many would also consider his lack of following orders a weakness, but John himself doesn´t. He just isn´t the type to blindly follow orders if he thinks they are wrong. Habits/Quirks: John tends to make a lot of jokes and sarcastic remarks. If he gets nervous he usually makes sarcastic remarks to not let anyone see how nervous he actually is. Personality: John Sheppard is a very trustworthy person. He would do anything to help or safe people he cares about (even die for them). He also tends to risk his live for people he doesn´t even know. It´s about doing the right thing for him.
